Antique late Victorian period circa 1890 Good Quality Match Safe Vesta Case in Silver Plated Metal of a handsome and rather ornate design featuring a Shelled wave pattern to the body bursting out from a convex scrolled cartouche enclosed with scrolled foliate work including a raised foliate mount to the lid, The Vesta features a Hinged lid with spring plate intact to the interior in good running order opening and closing shut firmly when used, also present to the lid is a static lug and rung bale so as to serve for when wearing the vesta about the person, usually secured to an Albert Watch chain during the period, the bottom terminal to the vesta case features the toothed striking strip for matches stored within the vesta case.

The Vesta when closed shut measures 5.5 cm x 4 cm x 1 cm in dimension or 2.2 inches x 1.5 inches x 0.25 inches and weighs 28.2 Grams or 1 Ounce.
